Sonny Carisi and his sinful hands will be the death of me.
Imagine his lust darkened eyes just staring you down when you get into the bathroom. Leaning in as closely as possible to kiss your neck and ghost a hand down your side. Then he presses his lips to you ear and whispers, “Is this what ya wanted, doll.” While slipping his hand into your panties.
“Oh, they all lie at some point. Women either lie or they cheat.” The drunk slurred at the bar and Sonny rolled his eyes so hard it almost changed the Earth’s rotation. “You think I’m lying?”
“I think, you think you’re right,” Sonny says taking a sip of the beer in his hand and looking up at the television that is playing baseball.
“Oh, so the giant fucking pool noodle thinks I’m an idiot?” The man scoffs, downing another shot that he obviously doesn’t need.
He continues rambling on about how ‘women are unfaithful bitches’ an all kind of nonsense and Sonny had his limit. He tipped the bartender, figuring he’d earned it after having to deal with the drunken mess that continued to ramble. With another eye roll, Sonny made his way outside to the awaiting vehicle and you inside with a wide smile and welcoming kisses.
“Hello, handsome.” You smile, intertwining the fingers of your right hands with the fingers of his left as you pull off and head home.
“Hi beautiful, I’ve missed you.” He says, bringing your hand up to his face so that he can place a kiss on your knuckles, a sweet gesture that always makes your swoon for some reason.
“I’ve missed you too, honey.” You smile glancing over at him. “How was your day?”
“It was fine. Some idiot at the bar called me a giant pool noodle though.” He grumbles under his breath and you giggle.
“A what?”
“A giant fucking pool noodle.” He repeats, dead-faced and annoyed.
“Awe baby,” You say with a wide smile in amusement.
“Yeah, just some drunk who was talking nonsense.” He says shaking it off and watching as you pull up to your apartment building and parking in the reserved parking structure.
Once you are parked and the keys are pulled from the ignition, both you and Sonny get out of the vehicle and make your way to the elevator, riding it up and to your beloved apartment. After breaching the threshold, Sonny toes off his shoes and loosens the tie around his neck. Smiling, you pull him to you by his tie until his lips are pressed firmly against yours.
“Mmm, I love you.” You smile, patting his chest lightly before pulling his jacket off his shoulders and heading toward the bedroom.
“Hey, doll, can I ask you something?” He asks, following you into the room and watching as you strip from your clothes and pull on your pajamas.
“Of course.” You smile, turning to look at him as you toss your clothes into the laundry basket.
“Have you ever lied to me?” He asks slowly and softly as if he was afraid to ask the question, afraid you’d be upset for him asking.
“Have I ever lied to you?” You ask, more-so to yourself as you think. “Why are you asking that?”
“I don’t know, I was just wondering.” He shrugs, watching you as you cross the bedroom and walk toward him.
“I wouldn’t say I’ve really lied.” You bite your lip nervously, slipping your hand in his. “You remember that time I told you not to wear those tight navy dress pants because they didn’t look right? They actually made your ass look fantastic and I didn’t want anyone else looking.” You lean up on your toes and kiss his cheek. “Where’s this coming from anyway?”
“Just something the man at the bar said.” He mumbles as he watches you slip back out the bedroom door and toward the kitchen.
“The one that called you a pool noodle?” You ask over your shoulder. “What was he saying?” You ask as you reach into the fridge and pull out a water.
“Yeah, it doesn’t matter.” He wraps his arms around you from behind and rests his chin on your shoulder. “What does matter is you are the most amazing wife and I don’t know what I would do without you.”
“I’m sure you’d manage.” You smile and turn your head to kiss his cheek.
“Did I really look good in those dress pants?” He asks with a smile.
“With those on and a nice button up and you have ya girl swooning.” You turn around in his arms to face him. “But there is this one suit that is my absolute favorite.”
“Which one?” Sonny asks, tilting his head to the side.
“Your birthday suit.” You lean up and whisper in his ear and he chuckles.
“You are so cheesy, doll.” He says as he bends down and throws you over his shoulder. “But I will gladly show you that suit of mine.”
Letting out a huff, you turned onto your side and draped a leg over your sleeping husband. Seconds later you were turning onto your back, putting a pillow behind your knees, then turning again. And now you had to use the restroom.
As you were struggling to sit up it woke Nick. “Would you just hold still. I’ve barely slept.” Nick grumbled
You rubbed your 9 month pregnant swollen belly, “Well excuse me. I’m just a little pregnant right now”, you shot back at him. When you emerged from the restroom, you grabbed your pillow and yanked the blanket off Nick.
“Cariña. What are you doing? ” Nick asked sounding annoyed. “Why did you take the blanket?”
“Sleeping on the couch. I wouldn’t want to disturb you anymore my love.” You said over your shoulder. You heard Nick mumbling something in Spanish. The words you could understand were stubborn woman.
After putting the blanket and pillow on the couch, you clicked in the TV. Lowing yourself onto the couch, you attempted to get comfortable. Nick appeared in the doorway, shirtless, with his pajama pants hanging off his hips. You stared for a moment in appreciation. “I am NOT stubborn, Nicholas.”
Nick raised a questioning brow, but wisely didn’t say anything. He shuffled over to the couch. Taking your feet into his lap, he gently massaged them, “I’m sorry.”
“I know, me too.” Sighing, and running your hand over your belly. Nick continued to massage your feet.
“How about some chamomile tea? I know that helps you relax.” He gave you a small smile.
“Tea would be nice. Thank you.” You grinned sleepily at him.
When Nick returned you had your eyes closed. He put the mug down on the end table. Leaning over he kissed your head. “I love so much, mi amor” he whispered.
“I love you too Nicky” you mumbled, not opening your eyes.
“Let’s get you to bed. I dont like you sleeping on the couch.” Nick stated, taking your hand.
“No. I’m comfortable here.” You fluttered your eyes open. “Go back to bed, Nick. You need to rest too.” You closed your eyes again.
You heard him move around the room, the TV shut off and the couch sunk as he sat down, placing your feet in his lap. “Good night, Y/N.”
“Hmm..” was all you could say before finally falling asleep.
the thing with fred happened just over a year ago and sonny still has it replay in his mind from time to time. holding his girlfriend’s lifeless body when she passed out from blood loss scared him to death. it’s an image that haunts him even though she’s okay.
this is also not long after the lockdown. [& as a reminder the lockdown happened because several clubs from a couple of towns over came up w/ an idea to kidnap nick, sonny & the bastards’ old ladies in order to force them out of town] he’s feeling particularly sensitive about her safety. feels like he’s not good for her and then seeing her get along with the doctor became this confirmation bias that she’s be better with someone else–someone who was the opposite of him in almost any way. and that’s a hard feeling considering how much he loves her. and he feels dumb bringing it up with her because he knows what she’s going to say (that she loves him and has no plans to anywhere), but he still can’t shake the feeling that he’s going to be responsible for getting her hurt worse or killed.
AND there’s zoning issues with the location of the parlor again so he’s in a place where he feels like he can’t do anything right/provide for his family or the club.
comes after this, this & this [will update my masterlist tomorrow!]
You bit your lip and scrolled through your messages again. You were the only one in the apartment still awake and even though the couch was comfortable you couldn’t quite get to sleep. Sonny’s recent message had just come through and you hit the button to call him before you even made up your mind. It barely rang one time before Sonny was hastily accepting the call. His breathing sounded ragged and the two of you sat in silence for a long moment before he cleared his throat.
“Are you safe?” Sonny asked in a strained voice and you laughed under your breath before it turned into a sigh.
“Yeah, Sonny. I’m safe,” you said quietly, trying not to wake up Nick’s old lady where she was asleep in her bedroom.
“I know you don’t want to hear this now, but uh, I promise I’d never—ever—ch—” he started in a low voice and you cut him off.
“I’m not ready to have this conversation yet, Sonny. Please,” you begged in a choked up whisper. “I feel like someone put my heart through a meat grinder.” Sonny inhaled shakily and paused.
“I’ll do anything you want to get you to come home. Anything. I swear. I’ll sell my share of the parlor, I’ll—I’ll fucking leave the club. Anything, doll, please just give me som—” Sonny begged and you cleared your throat and looked up towards the ceiling.
“You don’t get to do this right now, Dominick,” you said sharply and Sonny cut himself off abruptly. “I’m hurting right now—I’m hurting. Because of you. Not because of the club or some random person trying to use me to get to you, but because of decisions you made. Because whatever was going on in that head of yours, eating you up, was too hard for you to talk about with me. Now you want to talk, but I don’t have the energy,” you went on in a whisper again. “I’m tired. I’m so very, very tired. You said you wanted to say goodnight. That’s all I called to hear right now.”
There was a rustling on his end and a low voice that must be Nick’s before Sonny said something inaudible in response. More rustling and a vehement hiss before Sonny came back on the line clearly.
“Sorry isn’t enough, but that’s all I can say right now. I—I love you. I love you so fucking much it takes my breath away sometimes…I love you so much that when I’m having a bad day I just make a list of all of the things I love about you. I’m so very, very sorry, doll. I’m sorry I ever made you feel like you weren’t everything to me. Because you are,” Sonny’s voice was low and thick with emotion and you nodded to yourself and bit your cheek hard to keep from crying again. “You need to sleep. Thank you for calling and letting me hear your voice. Can I see you tomorrow in the morning? Come over with Nick?” Sonny asked finally and you licked your lips as you thought it over.
“Yeah…you can come with Nick,” you replied, closing your eyes and tightening your grip on the phone. Sonny hummed and exhaled hard.
“Thank you. Alright, I’ll let you go. Thank you for calling,” he repeated and you nodded even though he couldn’t see it.
“You’re welcome.” The words were stiff on your tongue and you made a displeased face at how formal you sounded.
“I love you,” Sonny reminded you and his voice had a wisp of hopefulness to it.
“Goodnight, Sonny,” you replied and there was a long pause and some more rustling before he cleared his throat again.
“Night, doll. See you in the morning.”
“See you then. Oh and Sonny,” you added before you hung up. He made an inquisitive noise. “I love you.”
no they haven’t!! I’d love to answer that for you. 🙂
