Bliss.
Nirvana had nothing on the
atmosphere in the Barba household. With Ashtonja’s adoption finalized, the family fell back into their normal routine. In the mornings,
Natalia made sure her two older girls were ready for school before Rafael
escorted them out the door. Hazel and Holly were growing so fast, and Natalia
tried to cherish every single milestone her babies accomplished with loads
of pictures. For his part, Rafael basked in the wonder of everything his girls could do and were, but a part of him was ready to get back into the swing of things.
Finally, he got word from the DA’s
office that the welcome mat was out.
well, if you’ll recall nick hasn’t been in a relationship in a long time. even back in high school when they were all friends before getting into MC stuff nick was usually single or casually dating. and he did want to date reader A seriously back in the day, but her parents wouldn’t allow it. so he threw himself until the club and into being president. but he doesn’t have a lot of close attachments outside of it (aside from his stepbrother, he he’s not even a teen at this point).
then there’s sonny who has been with his girlfriend over a decade. his sergeant at arms was one of his father’s best friends. he’s more family oriented–as much as he can be.
he & nick have been having variations of who is more ‘right’ (minimal attachments as president v more ties) for awhile and it boils down to how they’re just 2 different people. nick is motivated by responsibility & sonny is motivated by making his family happy.
they’re both right & wrong. but it’s a longstanding argument.
“What the hell is this?” Sonny said as he opened the pizza box. You glanced at it before looking back to your boyfriend.
“Hawaiian pizza with extra pineapple.” You simply said as you grabbed a slice and began to chew on it.
“Who in the world puts pineapple on pizza?” Sonny said as he poked at the yellow fruit.
“Coming from the guy that bought a goat cheese pizza one day.” You rolled your eyes as Sonny hesitated before placing a slice on his plate.
“Hey, don’t you start. You know how much I love that pizza! But this?! This is just plain wrong!” Sonny said as he began to pick the pineapple off his slice.
“You don’t know if you like it until you try it! Stop being a child, Dominick.” You said with a raised brow. Sonny groaned some as he placed a small piece of pineapple back onto the pizza and took a bite. You watched in amusement as Sonny made several different faces before he finished what he was eating.
“I gotta say, doll, that ain’t half bad.” Sonny said as he placed the pineapple back onto the pizza. You smiled at him before placing a quick kiss to his cheek.
“I knew you would, love.” You said before turning back to your slice to finish it off.
-No one really finds out until after the birth of your child. Before that most people assumed you were pregnant with Rafael’s baby considering that’s who you’re “public” with. They just assume you’re really close with Sonny.
-After the baby is born Sonny and Rafael take a month off of work to help out and bond with the baby. That’s when Benson figures it out, then follows Rollins and then Fin.
-Fin of course has no trouble coming to terms with your relationship but he asks a lot of questions to be certain he understands. Fin is in love with your baby, every time he sees the little bundle he practically jogs over to be the first to hold it.
“Rafael, open this door.” You groaned as you knocked on the bathroom door again. You always gave Raf privacy but you were annoyed with it. You were going to be late to work as you barged into the bathroom.
“Cariño? Answer honestly. Do you think I should shave my beard?” Rafael ran his hand over the scruff on his face. You rolled your eyes as you crossed your arms over your chest.
“Rafael, I love your bread, alright? Especially when you’re between my legs…q” You placed a kiss to his cheek as some of the blood from his face ran south.
“Really?”
“Mhmmm.” You said as she stripped out turned the shower on. You got inside and quickly began to shower for your day.
“So keep it?” Rafael asked as he joined you in the shower. You nodded and placed a quick kiss to his lips.
“Please, babe.” You smiled as you place another kiss to his lips before going back to washing your hair.
