WHY ARE THEY THE FUCKING CUTEST FAMILY EVER!!!!
GOD, ELISA BARBA-CARISI BEING SO COMFORTABLE AND TRUSTING WITH HER DADS THAT SHE KNOWS SHE CAN SEND THEM SILLY DRUNK SNAPCHATS WITHOUT THE FEAR OF GOD RAINING DOWN ON HER.
Can you imagine the smile on Sonny’s little face when he gets like, twenty Snapchat notifications in a row after being stuck in a hot, dark car for three hours? (’:
He’s already sad because he’s being kept away from Rafael and their bed for the night, but add on top of that the humidity of a New York City summer night and Amanda’s absolute Not Having It attitude towards being on a stake out as long as they have? Poor bby.
But then his phone vibrates, and he opens Snapchat, and he’s basically treated to Elisa doing a drunken musical performance of Hamilton with a few of the kids who he recognizes as being in her study group with each message that he opens.
She’s happy, and being silly, which makes Sonny’s heart feel like it’s about to burst, and all he can do is grin so widely as he opens up a text message of his own and sends, “Be safe, sweetheart. I love you!” with like three heart emojis because he’s That Dad along with a gif of a baby bunny because that’s what she’ll always be to him. (’:
And then of course, he proceeds to text Rafael and ask him, “Did Elisa Snapchat you? I just got sent an entire rendition of Alexander Hamilton. You’d be proud.”
When Rafael responds not even five minutes later, it’s not even with an answer to Sonny’s question. Instead, it’s: “Does she sound better drunk than she does sober?” because good god, their daughter cannot hold a tune for anything.
Sonny’s laughing out loud at that, not even quieting down when Amanda throws him a glare, too busy reveling in the joy and love that his family brings him to get a response in before Rafael’s sent him another text: “Oh wait, I just got one. This time it was Defying Gravity. She just as bad when she’s drunk.”
And the rest of the night continues on like that, Elisa sending them goofy Snapchat videos or pictures intermittently, Sonny responding to each and every one of she and Rafael’s messages until he’s no longer receiving any and he’s certain that they’ve both fallen asleep. But the last thing he does, before radioing in and asking Liv if they can call it in for the night, is take a selfie of himself with the hearts filter, and write a message to them both for sending it off.
“Thank you both for letting me love you.”
This is so sweet I got a cavity. ❤
