You wanted to last longer than you did, but you ended up calling Nick several hours. Part of you wasn’t sure if he’d answer and the other part said that you knew that he would. Chances were he was telling the truth when he said he couldn’t sleep without you. The phone rang twice before he picked up, voice sounding weary, but wide awake.
“I’m sorry,” he said immediately in a quiet voice. You sighed and leaned back against the pillows in your bed, just breathing for a moment.
“I know you are,” you acknowledged finally and you heard the rustling of sheets as he shifted in bed.

Nick roared up to the spot where he and Sonny were to meet, Razor by his side as they pulled haphazardly into the parking lot and parked their bikes. Nick and Razor nodded at Matty who was leaning against his bike, Sonny sitting at the usual bench several feet away. Matty gave a lethargic wave as Razor mirrored his posture, he and Nick exchanging a look as he strolled over to where Sonny was sitting.
“Oh, finally el jefe has arrived,” Sonny said lazily with a slow smirk and Nick rolled his eyes and gave him the finger before clasping him in a handshake and slapping him on the back. They sat back down across from each other at the table and Sonny squinted from the glare of the sun behind Nick’s back.
