You turned the page of your book and wiggled your toes under the sheets absently. The weighted blanket you and Sonny had invested in was draped along the bottom of the bed and it was a pleasant weight on your feet. Next to you Sonny was doing something on his iPad and every so often he made thoughtful noises as he read. A few minutes later you heard him sigh and then place it on the nightstand on his side of the room before situating himself in the bed again. You had just gotten to a dramatic part in the book when you felt Sonny drop a kiss on your bare shoulder. You were clad in one of his tanks tops to sleep in, some hold over from college that was worn in and soft, and he moved the small strap to the side as the kissed your shoulder again.
You hummed inquisitively, but continued reading. Soon his fingers joined his lips and he began trailing a course down the center of chest with gentle fingers. The kisses on your shoulder worked themselves up to your neck and you leaned to the side to give him more access as you continued reading. He made a grumpy noise that had you biting back a smile as you turned another page.
“Trying to read,” you murmured as you kept your gaze fixed to your book.
“Me too,” he answered against the skin of your neck. He licked the line of your jaw and then pressed a sucking kiss to it. “Mine’s a picture book.”
