“Hi Carmen. Nice to see you. How are you?” Smiling you approached Carmen’s desk.
“I’m good. Nice to see you too. Go on in. I think he could do with seeing you. Been a long day.” She smiled.
“Thanks.” You pushed open the door the door to Peter’s office. He was sitting in an arm chair, sleeves rolled up, looking over case files.
“I said I didn’t want to be disturbed.” Peter’s voice was curt.
“Well I can come back,” you replied. Standing next to his chair, you grinned when he looked up at you.
“Don’t you dare.” He tugged your arm and you fell into his lap. Peter pulled you close for a kiss. “To what do I owe this pleasure?” Peter slid his hand down you leg, stopping at your ankle.
“Well I have a bit of news that I just couldn’t wait to share with you.” You could hardly contain your excitement. “I got it. I got the job with the NYCLU.”
‘Congratulations darling. That is wonderful news. You will be fantastic.” He kissed you again. “C’mon. Let’s get some lunch. Hey your office is only a few blocks from mine.”
“We can ride to work together, maybe have lunch together more often, maybe a little more than lunch…” You waggled your eyebrows at your husband.
