PETEY PIE BEING A LITTLE LEAGUE COACH IS MY JAMMMM
- Peter has a son with you. He loves that boy with every fiber of his being
- His name is Ben (he loved his Dad in the end, fight me on this)
- Ben is three years old when he joins his first little league team. He’s so excited, bouncing up and down in his car seat. “I’m gonna play ball! I’m gonna play ball Mama!”
- He’s even more excited that his Daddy is the coach, but when they get there Peter takes him aside to explain a few things
- “Listen buddy, I want you to know that I love you very much ok? But when we’re out there, I can’t act like your Daddy. I’ve gotta be the coach, which means I’m going to treat you the same as I treat the other kids, ok?”
- “Ok Daddy!” Ben chirps
- Peter smiles at his little boy, “call me coach when we’re playing baseball ok?”
- “Ok Coach Daddy!” Peter can’t bring himself to correct the boy, it’s too cute. Too precious. He sends the toddler off with a kiss to his forehead to go play
- Ben has a great time running around the bases and hitting the baseball just like his Daddy showed him. One baseball went really far when he hit it. “Run Ben! Home run!”
- He tripped over his little cleats once but didn’t cry, he was too excited to get to home base!
- His team and Daddy cheered when he hopped onto home base, Peter picked him up and threw him in the air. Not caring that he was acting more like a Dad then a coach in that moment
- It’s a great game, their team ended up losing but the kids didn’t care. They high fived the other kids, saying “good game” just like Peter taught them to
- Ben had so much fun, especially since they got hot dogs and ice cream after the game, his favorite!
- “I can’t wait for the next game Coach Daddy! I’m gonna hit the ball even farther!” Peter buckles his son into the car seat, “the game’s over Benny. You can just call me Daddy now.”
- On the drive home Peter talks about going over strategy and plays with the kids, practicing on routines a little. He’s not pressed about it, they’re three and four years old after all, but it’d be good to teach them a little
- Ben’s passed out in the back seat, all tuckered out
- Peter carries him up to the apartment, gently changing him out of his little baseball uniform and into some pyjamas.
- The boy sleepily clings to his Daddy while being tucked in for a nap
- He murmurs a little, “I love you Daddy”
- Peter tears up and kisses his boy’s head, “I love you too Ben, nighty night”
- Peter kisses you when coming out to the kitchen, he’s never been happier
Oh my God the feels from this. I am smiling like an idiot.
