SC!AU background

You, the reader, have been working as a bartender at Cragen’s entertainment club for a few years now. Consider it a personal favor, one that needs to be cashed in from time to time.

Mike: You’re best friends with your fellow bartender, Mike. He began working at the club right after leaving the Marines, and taught you most of what you know. Always with a cheeky smile and new tricks to show off, Mike attracts just as much attention as those on stage. When he occasionally talks about his fiancée, he does so quite endearingly, although you’ve never actually met her. He also doesn’t open up about his time in the service much, but some things are better left unspoken. Like when he sometimes returns from his breaks with cloudy eyes and bloody knuckles.

Peter [Stage name|Chicago]: Peter was your newest addition before Sonny, transferring from the Windy City to escape from underneath his father’s overbearing thumb. Quiet and reserved but with a body that seems to be chiseled from marble, he took yours and everyone else’s breath away the moment he got on stage. You catch him staring often, but can only count on one hand the number of times he’s actually talked to you, settling for a soft smile and nod instead. He keeps a faded picture of a woman, blonde hair with light green eyes taped to the dressing room mirror.

Nick [Stage name| Casanova]: Nick is the resident flirt, starting at the club not long after you. As soon as he walked through those double doors, smirking and giving you a nod, you told yourself you’d have to be careful around him. However, the more time you spent with him the more you realized he was actually incredibly sweet. Well meaning, just not always well thought out. Which goes for his temper as well-Nick is quick to anger, slow to cool down and quipped with the meanest right hook you’ve ever seen, but thankfully he only turns physical on those he deems truly deserve it. After Nick steps in for you during an incident with an unruly boyfriend of one your patrons, the two of you become a lot closer.

Rafael [Stage name|El Juez]: Rafael has been dancing the longest, and most of your customers come to see El Juez perform in person-he’s the best in all five Burroughs. And it’s true. You’ve never seen someone command a room, captivate an audience quite like Rafael. Although you’ve never heard him admit it, he used to be an incredibly successful lawyer who’s grief caused him to sell his brownstone, quit his career, and take up dancing. “Life’s too short, cariño” he said to you while counting his night’s earnings, “too short to always do what’s expected of you.” With a sharp tongue, bag of tricks, and impeccable taste Rafael has a long list of admirers and an even longer list of enemies.

Sonny [Stage name|Dominick]: oh, Sonny. When he first walked in, nervously running a hand through his hair and leaning over the bar, you thought he was the new bartender Cragen had hired. He laughed and told you that no, he was here to dance. That, admittedly, caught you by surprise, but once you saw him on stage you were taken aback and so pleasantly surprised. Tall, lean body with graceful movements and a heart stopping gaze you felt a certain protectiveness over the kind, thoughtful law student. Everyone called him Dominick, but the moment he smiled at you and told you to call him Sonny you knew he wouldn’t just be a coworker.

Fin: as mentioned before, Fin is a bouncer on the side. The only reason you know he’s an NYPD officer during the day is that you ran into him flashing his badge to a bodega owner, to which you quietly smiled at him and slipped out the door. He mentioned later to you that he’s trying to save up for his grandson’s college fund.

Amanda: Amanda is a kick ass and take names DJ at the club. She’s incredibly good at what she does, almost as if music comes to her naturally. Her Georgia accent is just as endearing as her blunt attitude.

Olivia: Liv is one of your regulars, coming almost every night for El Juez and Chicago. She’s a hot mess with a wardrobe of mostly animal prints and gaudy gold jewelry. She tips well and always has a shred of wisdom to offer you while collecting her glass of red wine.

Oh hell yes!!
