Yooooo, lets deal with some of Barba’s post trial trauma shall we???
In the weeks since Rafael’s trial you could feel him pulling away from you. You tried your hardest to be there for him but he wasn’t letting you in. It had been an emotionally draining experience for the both of you and you were desperate to talk about it with him.
Expressing feelings wasn’t the Barba way. Instead he locked himself in the bedroom and slept. Self medicating with an expensive whiskey when his thoughts got the better of him. If you tried to talk to him he would just brush it off.
Nick’s gold chain and diamond earrings were gifts from you and your charm bracelet is from him. The two of you don’t do gifts that much, but he’s the only one you’ve given things to.
Rafael spoils you (even though you can spoil yourself just fine thanks). Lingerie and jewelry and champagne.
Sonny doesn’t buy things for you, but he always cooks breakfast for you in the morning. He’s a surprisingly good cook.
Peter brings you your favorite candies, or pastries from that bakery you mentioned liking. It’s always something that you love.
Mike is the one to give you flowers. He says he just happens to pass by the florist sometimes while he’s running, but you’re not sure you believe him. Either way, they brighten up your apartment.
A part of being an adult is living with regret and not allowing it to consume you. The older you get, the more mistakes you’ve made, opportunities you’ve missed, people you’ve disappointed. And every day you have to remind yourself to be kind and forgiving of yourself. You accept and love the you from the past and understand that it’s all a part of the process. Then you move on and live your best life, knowing now as old as you feel today, you’ll never be this young again.
It comes up because Rafael starts bragging about making you come four times in one night, and they very quickly figure out that you’re having sex with all of them. No one will openly admit to being jealous, but Nick isn’t thrilled about this many men being intimate with you, Rafael’s insecure that maybe he’s not the best, and Sonny worries that you’re going to abandon him. If they get drunk enough, they’ll talk about some fun memories as crass as it is. No one wants to mention your favorite things because they’d like to think they’re the only one who knows.
