+How does mc!Nick get you to accept his apology after the incident with Razor and Joey’s mom?
++Being super demanding today sorry, and of course totally appreciate all your posts….. Is there more to Nick apologising to you re Joey? Do you mention being a little sccared?? Love the mc!au
You wanted to last longer than you did, but you ended up calling Nick several hours. Part of you wasn’t sure if he’d answer and the other part said that you knew that he would. Chances were he was telling the truth when he said he couldn’t sleep without you. The phone rang twice before he picked up, voice sounding weary, but wide awake.
“I’m sorry,” he said immediately in a quiet voice. You sighed and leaned back against the pillows in your bed, just breathing for a moment.
“I know you are,” you acknowledged finally and you heard the rustling of sheets as he shifted in bed.
The guy at the door is implied to be the man who tortured Nick, and the texts occur several hours later after some words are said and Nick decides to duck out //
By the time Nick can see and hear properly again, the room is quiet save for heavy breathing. He pries himself away from your chest but keeps you close with an arm around you. Disarray taints the entryway, scuff-marks age the carpet and the plaster is dented where the ache at the back of Nick’s head tells him he was slammed into the wall. Everything is a blur more than a genuine memory.
“Are you okay?” Sonny asks.
Nick wants to cry, a lot. Too many bad memories of burning lungs and his father’s calloused palms swim on the surface of his brain for him to want to do much else. Instead, he says, “What the fuck, Sonny? How did he find us? What does he want?”
“I don’t know what he wants, but he’s been following me, and-”
“For the love of Christ,” he blurts out, “didn’t we just talk about this? No more fucking secrets, what’s so hard about that? I mean, dammit, Dominick, I don’t just exist to look pretty. I want to help you, take care of you, but all you do is push me away.”
“Nicky-”
“Don’t fucking start. You treat me like shit half the time. God, since you came back, everything has been such a mess.”
At his words, Sonny actually flinches. But Nick can either be angry or he can be scared, and the former is a much better option. He’s tired of the secret-keeping and the arguing and the everything. Sure, he missed Sonny, and he loves him, but he can’t help thinking about how hard it is to hold everything together.
“What’s the point of this, anyways?”
“Nick, stop,” you say, and it’s so meek that he almost does.
“Seriously, Dominick, fuck you. I’m tired of giving a fuck about whatever shit you’ve landed yourself in this time.” He takes his ring off, the one that matches Sonny’s and yours because he used to care, he used to be so naive that he thought this would work. Nick drops it to the carpet like it’s a piece of garbage. When he turns to you, he softens. “I love you, sweetheart. I’m not asking you to choose. I love you so much and I’ll always be right here whenever you want or need me. Give me a couple days to get a place, and I promise it’s yours too.”
He kisses you softly before pulling away with a hard expression aimed at Sonny.
“And you, Carisi? I was fucking right to leave you the first time.”
Those words hanging in the air, he storms out in a mess of anger and blood and bruises, leaving you and Sonny behind to pick up the pieces.
aww thank you!! it’s a bit tough since they’re both supposed to be ‘reader’ at some point in the storyline so I don’t want to give them names or too much of a physical description. trying to work on how I can continue to develop their friendship, though!
reader A def has to throw down with one of the craneas one day (& I have that request in my inbox so it’ll be coming at some point)
reader B…not so much. you & sonny are so established that most of them really respect the relationship. once they hire some of Kevin’s former girls that’s when one of them comes sniffing around Sonny and you put the fear of God in her.
Anon request:Fanfic about Barba and his daughter (His daughter is in her school’s musical and is starring, and she told him about it and is worried he won’t be there to see her) please?
Lina took a deep breath and knocked on the door of her father’s study.
“Come in,” Rafael’s voice sounded weary on the other side.
Lina crept into the study, feeling a little apprehensive about the state of mind her father would be in that evening. It wasn’t always easy to be the daughter of an assistant district attorney of the city of New York. Today was one of those days.
“Hi, Papi.”
Rafael looked up at his youngest daughter and gave her a tired smile and closed the file he had in front of him. She shouldn’t be looking at photographs like those, not at the tender age of ten. “Mija,” he beckoned her over. “Everything alright?”
“Yes, Papi. Are you okay? You looked tired.”
Lina had always been a little wise for her years. She had started out life as a tiny infant, but this hadn’t stopped her trying to emulate and keep stride with her older sisters. In Rafael’s opinion, she was growing up faster than he cared to think about.
“It’s been busy at work, I’ve just had a lot of work to get through.”
“Defense attorney giving you grief, Papi?”
Rafael chuckled. “Mija, you know I like to wipe the floor with them, don’t you?”
“You sure do!” Lina smiled, her sparkling green eyes, matching his own.
//Be still my heart, Mike with his kids is just the cutest.//
Dim light filtered into your bedroom and raindrops beat against the window pane. Turning over you felt Mike’s side of the bed empty, which was nothing unusual. Slowly opening your eyes you stretched lazily.
After adjusting your eyes you saw the time, 7AM. Mike walked out of the bathroom, freshly showered, with just a towel slung around his hips. His face etched with worry. He had been fretting for two weeks over your daughters first day of preschool.
“Good morning, love”, he gave you a tight smile and kissed your head. Turning, he moved to the closet to change. He came out in cargo shorts and a T-shirt.
“Good morning. Are you ready for today?” You glanced at him trying to see his reaction. You already knew the answer. He stayed home to take Cora to school then pick her up.
He shrugged his shoulders and put his hands on his hips. “Does she really need to go to preschool? She could just go to Val’s’ still right? I mean she can teach her. She already knows her ABC’s, can count to like 1,000, she can even say some Spanish words.”
You smirked at him and shook your head. “Michael. She needs interaction from kids her age, other than her brother, plus she does not know how to count to 1,000.” You raised an eyebrow at him.
Crossing his arms he looked down at you, “This isn’t a joke, Y/N. What if she gets hurt? Or scared? Or she can’t make friends?”
Getting up from bed, you stood in front of him. “You sure are cute when you’re freaking out.” You reached up to ruffle his hair, but he ducked out of your way, making you laugh.
Cora came bounding into your room and jumped on the bed. “I’m going to school today! I’m going to school today!”
“Wouldn’t you rather stay home with Daddy today?” He pouted his lip which made Cora giggle.
“Daddy’s silly.” She pouted her lip to match Mike’s.
“Not sure silly is the word I’d use.” You winked at Mike.
After taking Isaac to school, you headed for Cora’s preschool. She chattered the whole way there.
Mike helped Cora out of her carseat and put her backpack over her shoulders. It was almost as big as her.
When you got to her classroom, the teacher greeted the three of you. She knelt down and asked Cora to find her name on her desk.
Mike reluctantly let go of her hand, “Love you Cora. Have fun.”
“Bye bye Mommy and Daddy!” And she was off exploring.
He took a deep breath, and squeezed your hand. “You were right. She’ll be fine.“
