anon asked: I’m knitting you a hat. With Sonny please

featuring nonna Carisi! comes sometime after this: Italy [asking you, pre-trip dinner, packing, walking, hiding, interlude, proposal, celebratory sex, market trip, vineyard, blush]

“I’m knitting you a hat!” nonna Carisi announced in a thick Italian accent.

The video quality was going in and out, but you could hear her clearly. She had insisted on wanting to try video chat so that she could talk to you both at the same time. Every since you had come back from Italian you had been keeping in contact with her, sending her e-mails, physical mail and reminding Sonny to call her every couple of weeks.

“Nonna, was that for me or Sonny?” you asked with a slight frown. The two of you had been talking about how cold New York was currently, but Sonny was usually the one she sent clothes to year ‘round.

“You, cara mia. It is too cold for a flower like you! Is Sonny taking care of you?” she asked, aiming a pointed look at Sonny to your right.

“I am! I promise, nonna. Breakfast in bed on the weekends, plenty of hot chocolate and I make her wear gloves every day,” Sonny defended. You leaned your head against his shoulder with a soft smile.

“It’s true, nonna. He takes very good care of me. We’ll go a vacation to some place warm in a couple of months when it gets really cold,” you assured her. She harrumphed and leaned back in her chair. The picture crackled and froze for a moment before syncing back up and distantly you heard the wind whistling around the bedroom window.

“Well good. But I’m still going to knit you a hat. Both of you,” she replied with a little sniff.

“Can’t wait to wear it,” you replied warmly. “But don’t worry about us. We worry about you all alone in that house.”

“Ah, I’m fine! Carisi women, we are very strong willed,” she replied proudly. Sonny snorted and you jabbed him in the ribs with your elbow. “And that little neighbor boy, Nico, he has been checking on me. Every time I turn around—bam!—there he is. I suspect my grandson put him up to it.”

She regarded Sonny suspiciously and you bit back your smile and turned your face slightly into Sonny’s flannel clad shoulder. The worn in cotton was soft against your face and it smelled just faintly of firewood. The smell reminded you that you two needed to get out of the city for a weekend and spend time at the cabin.

“I just want to make sure you’re taken care of,” Sonny replied with a raise of his hands. “Besides, I figured you wouldn’t mind having someone to boss around every once in awhile.” You glanced up at Sonny and his eyes twinkled with mirth. Shaking your head at him you pressed a quick kiss to his mouth before turning back to the laptop.

“Eh, I do not boss! I simply instruct clearly. It is better to be clear than not clear,” she replied with an unconcerned shrug. “Anyway, I must be going. Nico will be here tomorrow, no doubt, and I want to see what around the house I can have him do in order to be helpful. You take care of each other, hear?”

You and Sonny nodded as you smiled. “Absolutely. We promise. As long as you let Nico help you out, okay?” you replied. She waved you away, but smiled nonetheless.

“Sì, sì. We talk soon. ¡Vi amo!” she said with a little wave.

“¡Ti amo!” you and Sonny both replied with waves of your own before signing off. You shut the laptop and allowed Sonny to wrap his arm around your waist.

“We have a pretty great family, huh?” he asked, voice muffled against your head.

“We really do,” you replied with a smile as you stretched up to kiss him.

This filled my fluff craving!

Ugh! Why must you be so good! Now I keep wishing for the second part after Nick brings home the Pumpkin Spice Latte and receives his sloppy blowjob. Dang! That one was so good, but just a tease. LOL

“Oh shit,” Nick groaned as you took him in your mouth with a little hum. His hands flew out to grab on to something and they settled on your shoulders as he hastily set his coffee cup down on the counter behind him.

“Sweetheart, I didn’t—sh—you don’t have to,” Nick tried to say through sucked in breaths as you bobbed your head.

Down the Pier

Sonny thought he would be exhausted, as he often is after plane trips, but he finds a strange energy buzzing in his body as he drags his suitcase towards the lobby of San Diego International. Businessmen and messy vacationers spill around him while he searches for Nick in the crowd, his shirt already sticking to his back from the heat flooding through automatic doors and cracking through industrial air conditioning.

Zara finds him first, crashing into his legs followed by Nick’s voice calling her name. Sonny drops his luggage and scoops her up while she laughs and tells him about some new toy her mother bought for her a week ago. He switches her to one hip in time to see Nick nudging past an old woman and looking all too relieved to see Zara safe.

He looks different as he gently chastises her for running off. His hair is longer, slightly curly and wild like he’s been running his fingers through it all day. The wrinkles around his eyes are deeper but his smile is twice as wide. He’s different, but a good different. Sonny sets Zara down and realizes that he’s come all this way and doesn’t know what to say. Things ended on an abrupt note and no amount of late night phone calls compares to being here, face to face. Their greeting is awkward and stiff but the hug isn’t. Nick still holds him like he’s the world. He doesn’t wear the same cologne anymore, if any, he just smells warm and a little salty.

While they walk out of the airport and towards the parking garage, Zara babbling excitedly while swinging Sonny’s hand back and forth, Nick insisting on taking the suitcase despite his bad leg slowing him down. They’re not going straight to Nick’s, Zara tells him, but she won’t say where they’re going because it’s a surprise. Something beautiful, Nick adds. And Sonny almost tells him that he’s beautiful.

The music drowns his thoughts instead, some happy station that Zara hums along to and Nick quietly sings with. California looks good on him. He’s an angel rolling down the I-78 with wind from the cracked window rustling his hair. It feels like only seconds before they’re pulling into paid parking and climbing out of the car for wherever Nick’s taken them.

He sees the horizon first. The sun is just starting to sink low on the horizon, casting golden hour light over sparkling waves that lap at the poles supporting a pier that seems to stretch endlessly. Zara grabs one of Sonny’s hands while he’s still drinking in the view, occupies her other with Nick, and starts trying to urge them towards a gorgeous blue and white building in the distance. Ruby’s, she calls it. Nick doesn’t explain but he smiles and looks at Sonny like he’s the better view.

Slowly they make their way down the pier, past fishermen and tourists, the sun beginning to tint rosy. It’s breathtaking. He can’t look away from the view, even when he starts to shiver from the plummeting temperature. Suddenly there’s a warm jacket placed over his shoulders, and Nick is smiling at him again and his breath catches in his throat at the sparkle in Nick’s eyes that he’s really missed.

When he looks away, the sky is dark, and Zara is urging them into the diner for a good meal.

the sweetest thing ever. I really like this line: The wrinkles around his eyes are deeper but his smile is twice as wide. liiiiiike yes give me a little older & wiser zaddy Amaro who is happy and doing well. yes.

“Call Me
Sonny.”

               I stood
in the middle of Victoria’s Secret, lazily sifting through the unorganized 5
for $20 panties. They were having a 50% sale on bras and I had come here with
the intention of buying one, but all the salespeople were busy and I’d been
wanting new underwear anyway. I’d found two I liked already—one turquoise thong
made entirely of lace, and a hot pink pair of boy shorts. It seemed unlikely
that I’d find any more at this rate, but I didn’t feel like going home yet, so
I kept looking.

               I was
about three bins in when a man with slicked-back hair wandered inside, glancing
up at the sign as he entered to make sure this was the right place. In grey
slacks, a white button down, and a navy blue vest, he was dressed up, at least
in comparison to everyone else in the store. He stopped in the entryway and put
his hands on his hips, scanning the area. He seemed a little confused, maybe
debating where to go. I watched him shift his weight uncomfortably, then take a
few hesitant steps toward a saleswoman who was busy with another customer. He
waited patiently for a few minutes, and when the customer didn’t stop asking
the woman’s opinion on different shades of push-ups, he tried to get her
attention.

Nick slipped into bed beside your sleeping form.

Your breathing was even and deep, your lips parted slightly, so peaceful. He pushed a loose strand of hair out of your face and softly carressed your cheek.

It was the most he had touched you in a week. He craved it. Hell, he needed it. He needed it like he needed you back in his arms. Nick swallowed the lump in his throat. In a raspy voice, he leaned over and whispered in your ear. “I love you, Y/N. I’m going to win you back. If it takes the rest of my life to do it.” He kissed your cheek, then rolled over away from you.

“I love you too.” You mouthed into the darkness as a single tear escaped.

Sonnyverse: Sonny reacts to finding out that’s he’s going to be a father for the first time

Sonny told you he wanted kids, a lot of kids, early on in your relationship. You thought back to the conversation that sealed the deal for you.

“No doll. I don’t think you understand. I want like four, maybe five kids, maybe more.” He smoothed his mustache and chuckled. “How bout you?”

“At least three. Boys or girls?”, you countered.

“Ah, doesn’t really matter. Both would be nice, I guess.” He smiled, blushing a little. “Kinda heavy stuff for only being together four months.”

“Nah. It’s good to know. Good to have these conversations early. Wouldn’t want to get married then find out you don’t want kids.”

“Married?”, Sonny asked with the tilt of his head.

The ringing of your cell brought you out of your thoughts, grinning when your husbands number showed up on the screen. “Well Mr. Carisi. I was just thinking about you.”

“Is that right? All good I hope, Mrs. Carisi”, Sonny said down the line.

“Oh most definitely. Actually thoughts of last night were going through my head.” Married three months and you still couldn’t get enough, not that you could before for that matter.

“Yeah, that’s why I’m runnin’ on coffee and 3 hours of sleep”, Sonny teased. “Don’t get me wrong, doll. I’m not complainin’ or anything.”

“I should hope not”, you argued playfully. “So was there a reason for your call?”

“Just lettin’ you know I’ll be home on time, for a change. I’ll make dinner. We’ll have some wine, maybe go out for ice cream-”

“Yes! Ice cream! No. Gelato!”

Sonny laughed, “gelato it is. See you at 5. Love you.”

“Oh, I have a surprise for you. Something that you, and me, have wanted for a long time.”

“Can I get a hint?” Sonny pleaded. You could hear his excitement in his voice. He loved surprises, and this one would be the best ever.

“You once told me you wanted a lot of them”, was the only hint you gave him.

“Cannolis?”

Laughing at his answer, “is that all you think about, food? You’ll just have to wait and see.”

“Honey. I’m home”, Sonny called as he walked through the front door. He made his way to the family room, where you were waiting.

“Good evening, husband. Like my new shirt?” You straightened the fabric of your T-shirt so Sonny could read it well.

“What’s that say- ‘Does this shirt make me look preg-pregnant?’“, Sonny shot his blue eyes to yours. “Are-are you really…”, Sonny’s voice wavered and he covered his mouth. “I’m going to be a- a”, he reached you in two long strides, then cupped your face in his hands. His eyes glistened with unshed tears.

You nodded your head, “You’re going to be a Daddy.” You giggled and your eyes welled with tears. “We are going to be parents.”

“This is so much better than cannoli’s.” Sonny embraced you on a tight hug.
