nah, you have to remember that her & sonny have been together for over 10 years. from teenagers to young adults to adults in their late 20s. she knows sonny, at the end of the day. if anything, the theory just reminded her how well she knows sonny, what motivates him and what his insecurities are.

it definitely won’t be a situation he can just apologize and resolve, but they have the benefit of a lot years together. she takes the theory at face value for what it really is– some kind of reminder that sonny is motivated more often by his love for her than he is by almost anything else. even the club.

will answer the first several questions in another fill, but wanted to share a little more on emily since we’ve only seen her for half a second thus far.

-she’s a redhead, young (early twenties, only a year out of college)
-knew to town, has no experience with the MC
-has a huge crush on sonny because he’s so sweet and has that biker edge. pretty classic good girl likes the bad boy with a heart of gold thing
-she’s not innocent, per se, but she’s also not malicious

sonny is the one most at fault, lbr. he knows better and he let himself be flattered by the attention because it happened to come during a time where he was feeling insecure. not cool, but…pretty human.

something I’m hoping to capture with this au is the dynamic between a couple that has been together for 10+ years (sonny & his girl) and a newer couple (nick & his) and how that relationship influences them, their decisions for the MC and what that it looks like as relationships evolve. even ones where both people are still in love have problems. there are no perfect characters in this au. but also, you don’t make it to 10+ years without some conflict resolution skills, imo. 🙂

I am 100% addicted to this au and couples. I cant wait to see what develops from this storyline along with the other characters.

Counselor Carisi is a mood 👌🏻

Ever since Rafael left and Peter joined, Sonny had been thinking over the choices of becoming an actual ADA. Even though he said he’s postpone it, he really began to think about it. When he learned of an opening, he applied for the position and waited. Days passed and nothing, a few weeks passed and nothing. When he came home one day, he checked the mail and noticed he had an envelope from the DA’s office. He ran to the apartment and sat on the couch and read it.

The largest smile moved over his lips as he saw that he got the job. Even though he would only be shadowing different district attorneys until they found him ready to prosecute a case by himself. Sonny didn’t care. He was one step closer to his dream job. Sonny wanted to go out and celebrate so once you got home from work, you two would go to dinner.

You two had gone to a nicer restaurant, Sonny always saying how, ‘One day, doll, I’ll take you there.’ He could barely contain his excitement as you two ordered drinks and food. You glanced under the table and noticed Sonny’s leg as bouncing before you looked back at him.

“You alright, Sonny? You seem either nervous or excited.” You asked. Sonny only bounced his leg when he was one of those two moods. He chuckled some as a large smile crossed his lips.

“You have no idea how excited I am, doll!” Sonny said. His smile was contagious and you couldn’t help but smile yourself.

“What happened today, sunshine?” Sonny wanted to wait to tell you but he couldn’t.

“So, you know how I applied to work at the DA’s office a few weeks ago? I’ve been waiting to hear anything from them. When I got home today, I found a letter from them. Doll, I got in.” Sonny said with a large smile. Your smile widened as you watched him.

“So.. you’re telling me that Detective Carisi is now going to ADA Carisi? Counselor Carisi? Sonny, that’s amazing! I’m so happy and proud of you.” You grabbed his hands and gave them both a quick squeeze.

“D-doll. You’re gonna make me blush.” Sonny said as he bowed his head as you saw the light pink on his cheeks.

“Have you figured out when you’re telling Olivia?” Slowly Sonny lifted his head at your question.

“Not yet. I have to go in on Monday to talk to a few people about the job. It’s just me shadowing people right now. I’ll talk to her Tuesday when I go in. Let’s not worry about that now, doll. Let’s enjoy dinner, alright?” Sonny said. You nodded as you pulled your hands back and into your lap.

“Whatever you say, counselor.” Watching Sonny’s face light up when you called him that might have been the highlight of dinner for you.

Sonny stared at the mess in front of him from the night before. A body laid dead on the floor were the large strain on his carpet was along with a body on the couch, just barely breathing. As you emerged from Sonny’s room just in one of his shirts, you stared at the scene.

“Maybe you should have cut me off last night? I mean, you know how I get when guys offer to buy me free shots.” You said as you went to check the guy on the couch. At least he was alive.

“Next time you decide to drink, you’re not allowed to feed. If you’re this much of a mess.” Sonny sighed as he grabbed the body on the floor and carried it to the bathroom.

“Oh, come on, Sonny. Can could you deny me food? You did it for my first three months.” You mumbled. Sonny shook his head as he returned to the living room.

“Guess we should probably get to cleanin. The blood is already soaked into the carpet. Meaning I need to get it completely replaced.” Sonny mentioned as he went to grab a few cleaning supplies.

“There’s a few ways we could make it so it didn’t look so much like blood. If we lighten it up by pouring enough bleach on the carpet we could pass it off as wine or even juice…” You suggested as you moved to the guy on the couch. You snapped your fingers few times and listen to him groan.

“Get him out of here. Go put him in an alley somewhere. I’m going to need to scrub my couch, too.” Sonny said. You rolled your heads as you made your way towards his bedroom to change.

“Not that bad. He wasn’t resisting me. It’s not my fault I accidentally severed her jugular.”

“Accidentally? You straight up got frustrated with her last night! She kept trying to pull away and you just grabbed a knife from the kitchen and sliced her jugular open! You let her bleed open on my fucking carpet!”

“Then why didn’t you stop me?” Sonny watched you and narrowed his eyes.

“I tried! You grabbed me by the throat, slammed me against the wall and told me if I interfered then you’d kill me. And we both know since you’re still new at all this, you’re stronger than me.” Sonny said. You grabbed the guy off the couch and made your way to the front door.

“I know a guy that can get you a new carpet for a decent price. I’ll call him up when we get home. He’s a no questions asked kind of guy.” You said before you opened the door and left. Sonny mumbled something before he began to pour bleach over his carpet and gently scrub the blood off it.
