so mc!nick kinda told reader a go stay out of mc!sonny and reader b’a fight… the next morning when mc! Nick and reader a see each other does he talk to her about staying out of it or no?

carisi-dreams:

not really? it’s a pretty quick conversation and then he quickly moves on to the more pressing matter–kissing her since they didn’t spend the night together.

////

“Told you not to get involved,” Nick said quietly with a sigh as you shut the door to your bedroom behind you. Sonny and his old lady were on your couch and you internally winced at how that conversation was going to go.

“Hmm. Decided not to listen to you,” you teased in the same quiet tone as he and Nick fought the smile that was trying to spread over his face.

“Stubborn,” he scolded as he sat on the edge of the bed and pulled you into him.

“Are you the pot or the kettle in this scenario?” you asked with a smile as you leaned down to press a hungry kiss to his lips.

“No idea what you’re talking about,” Nick murmured dismissively and you reached down to tickle his side before he caught your hand and pulled you in closer, wrapping it around his back. You pulled away, searching his eyes as you got serious for a moment.

“She’s my friend,” you told him firmly and Nick sighed and nodded, bringing up a hand to rub over his eyes. “She’d do the same for me. She’s been there for me throughout all of…this. She helped me when everyone else was just waiting for me to fail,” Nick made a dissenting noise at that, but you went on. “You and Sonny have each other. You and Razor. Sonny and Matty. We need each other too, the old ladies trying their best to keep their boys together.”

Nick nodded with a soft expression of understanding on his face before pulling you down to kiss him once more.

Kisses I want to write about:

Goodbye kisses: Lingering and hard for longer times apart. Ones that curve A’s body against B’s and cause hands to splay against backs. Or short pecks, maybe not even completely on the mouth for short trips to the grocery store.
Hello kisses: After long periods apart, these can include A picking up B and spinning them around. Fingers pressing into cheeks, palms cupping necks, and breathless laughs when they finally come up for air.
Breathless kisses: A series of short pecks because they need the closeness but they also need air, so. Sometimes smiles come in between, or sometimes its just breath, gasping for the sole purpose of being able to kiss again.
Heated kisses: Breath huffing into mouths, angrily or passionately. Hands grabbing at clothing and pulling each other closer.
First kisses: Hesitant and nervous. Lips hover inches from each other for a few seconds before they just barely brush. It’s just a soft press, but it ignites their entire bodies. Pinkies link afterwards, still wanting to be close, and each looks down, smiling softly.
After sex kisses: Lazy, slow presses. Limbs pressed together, chests heaving. Soft murmurs about what to do for dinner later, fingers trailing down backs, tracing lazy patterns. B rolling onto their back and A trailing their lips down their neck, kissing their shoulder, their chest, anywhere they can think of, memorizing B.
Morning kisses: Barely awake kisses that usually end up on jaws or cheeks because A is too tired to land it properly. B makes a sleepy sound and rolls into A, nuzzling their face into their neck, ankles hooking together, while A drapes their arms around B and they fall back asleep for a while.
Post-break up kisses: Soft and slow. Hands on each other’s arms in a way that neither can tell if the other is pushing away or pulling closer. The kiss ends with their foreheads pressed together, neither wanting it to be true that this is happening.
Christmas kisses: More smile than actual kiss. A holds mistletoe above their heads while B rolls their eyes, but pulls A down by the collar of their ugly Christmas sweater for a heated kiss. A takes B by the waist and walks forward until they are around the corner, away from the prying eyes and hoots of the rest of their friends and family.
Comforting kisses: B walks into find A sitting on the bed, shoulders shaking, cheeks wet. A looks up, face looking stricken for a moment. B is shocked, and quietly says A’s name. At this, A breaks, face crumpling, and only barely has time to reach both hands out for B before B is there, kneeling at A’s feet. B takes A’s hands first, kissing their knuckles and palms. Then B reaches up to hold A’s face, pressing soft kisses around their cheeks, their lips, murmuring “it’s okay” and “you’re alright” and “I’m here” in between.
“I thought I lost you” kisses: The breath is knocked out of both of them with the force that they collide with. Hands grip the back of t-shirts and palms are pressed up and under shirts, holding them close, feeling the warmth of their skin. Palms are pressed to cheeks, thumbs swiping away tears until their mouths collide messily, the world seeming to disappear around them.
“We can’t do this” kisses: Fists clenched, hands shoved into pockets. Brows low or brought together, jaws clenched. A feeling like a magnetic pull between them. Their foreheads press together, their lips brush, just barely, until B pulls away with a shaking exhale, forehead dropping into A’s neck.
“Come to bed” kisses: A has their hands on B’s neck, murmuring the phrase softly. A’s hands slide down B’s arms to their hands, lacing their fingers together and slowly starting to pull B towards their bedroom. A continues to pepper B with kisses all the while, trailing them down their jaw and neck.
“You look beautiful” kisses: Just a soft press of lips to the temple, resting them there for a moment, then smiling down and telling them as much.
“I’ll be right back” kisses: A puts their hands on B’s shoulders from behind them, where they are sat on the couch. He leans down and around, while B turns his head a little, accepting the quick peck.
“I missed you” kisses: Long and relentless, holding their body close, arms wrapped completely around their waist. A burying their head in B’s neck and pressing kisses there too.
Angry kisses: Hard, gripping. Fists in clothes, shoving each other against walls. Fingers digging into hips. But the kisses always melt away from that. They turn into brushes of lips between shaking breaths, until they’re out of energy and are left just standing there, holding each other, fingers carding through hair.
Sad kisses: Almost not a kiss at all. Just holding onto each other tightly, A’s lips pressed to B’s temple, whispering soft words, desperately trying to provide whatever comfort they can.
In the dark kisses: The movie plays in the background, but A and B are hardly paying attention from the back row. They kiss soundlessly, long and soft, fingers locked. A’s arm is thrown behind B’s seat, wrist bent to curl their fingers into B’s hair.
Dying kisses: A holds B in their arms, panicked, crying. Murmurs of “no, no, no.” Salt on their lips from tears. Voice cracking. Holding on tightly to their shirt, their shoulder, their hand, roughly pulling them against their body, anything to try and keep them tethered to this earth. Kissing them as they die (“no. No, stay awake—“), Kissing them once more even with the life has left their body (No. God, come back. Please, come back. Please, look at me, I’m right here”).

y’all send me a character and a kiss and i’ll write lil drabbles 🙂

“I thought you … I thought you loved me.” And Camaro please

  • uhh i hope you like this. i also hope it makes sense??? i’ve reread it several times and it makes sense to me but uhh yeah. enjoy.

“Why are you talking to a divorce lawyer?” Those were the first words out of Nick’s mouth as he came barging into the kitchen. “I thought you loved me, Sonny.”

Sonny looked up from where he was intently chasing a cheerio with his spoon, shock coloring his face. “How do you know about that?” He couldn’t deny it because he was talking to a divorce lawyer. Being married to a man that didn’t love him – hadn’t loved him in a long time was hard and Sonny had reached his limit. “I can see it on your face and… don’t, Nick.”

“Don’t… what, Sonny?”

“Don’t pick a fight, Nick,” he shook his head slowly, dropping his spoon in the bowl with a clatter, “because you and I both know you haven’t loved me in a long time.”

How to write a kiss

phionagallagher:

Rebloggable version, as requested by davrosbro. 🙂

Oooh!  Yes!  I love kisses.  Kisses are where it all starts ;).

Okay, first, remember that a kiss is much, much more than just lips.  It is lips, but also tongues, teeth, eyes, faces, hands, noses, bodies, heartbeats,  breath, voice- and most importantly, a kiss is emotions.  A kiss without emotion is just wet mushy lips stuck together.  Ew.  Gross.  The most important part of a kiss isn’t the how, but the who- because of the emotions between the two people.

Okay so:

lips- Lips can slide, glide over each other smoothly, or they can be chapped and rough and dry and get stuck on each other.  They can match, top-to-top and bottom-to-bottom, or they can overlap, with one person’s top or bottom lip captured between the other person’s lips (yummy).  If there is lipstick or chapstick there is lipstick or chapstick flavor, otherwise, lips don’t have a taste (can you taste yours?).  Lips also can smack- the sound of two of them coming together or pulling apart, because they’re wet and warm and soft.

tongue- Tongues are always wet, and always warm.  They’re very versatile.  They can trace over lips, teeth, or another tongue.  They can be smooth and graceful or teasing and flicking.  When tongues are involved, there is drool.  It’s only sexy when you like the person you’re kissing, or else it’s kinda gross. 😛

teeth- teeth can clack together awkwardly, or teeth can bite down sensually.  A person biting their own lip is cute, a person biting another’s lips is sexy.  A person biting gently is sensual, a person biting roughly is sexual.

eyes- Eyes can be wide open with surprise, half-lidded with desire, fully closed with pleasure.  Eyes can gaze lovingly, lustfully, wistfully, hungrily, seductively- it all depends upon the emotions of your characters.  Have them do whatever you like, but don’t leave them out- give them at least a mention!

faces- Faces are what the lips are attached to.  Noses bump, cheeks flush, ears turn red, foreheads either wrinkle or relax.  Kisses can leave lips, quite easily, and become kisses on chins, cheeks, noses, foreheads, ears, necks, throats.  Kisses on noses or foreheads are cute and adorable, kisses on cheeks are sweet, kisses on chins, ears, and throats are very sexual.  And a kiss on the lips can be all of those! ❤

hands- Hands are super-important.  In order to describe a kiss, usually you want to also describe the hands.  Where are they?  Does one character have their hand behind the other’s head or back, holding them close?  Are they on someone’s shoulders pulling them near, or pushing them away?  Fingers brushing someone’s cheek or palms grabbing someone’s ass convey two very different kinds of situations, even if the kiss itself is exactly the same.

noses- Noses are annoying.  They easily get in the way, especially for first kisses!  People have to tilt their head to one side or the other, and if they don’t, noses bump.  I’d only mention noses if a kiss is supposed to be awkward or uncertain or nervous.

bodies- bodies are either close together, or far away.  Someone can be surrounded comfortingly by someone’s arms, or terrifyingly trapped by them.  Bodies are warm or hot, they are calm or nervous, relaxed or tense.  Body language says a lot.  Is your character pulling away, or moving closer?

heartbeat- Hearts can beat fast or slow, and that’s about all they can do- but there are lots of reasons why they do!  A heart can beat fast with fear or excitement or nervousness; a heart can pound with lust or race with terror or sing with joy.  Hearts can glow, cower, or shatter.  When you really want to drive the emotions of a character home, mention the heart.

breath- To me, the most consuming part of a kiss is the breath.  The air that someone else has just breathed going deep into your lungs is very intimate.  Lips and tongues don’t have a taste, but breath does.  Each person’s breath tastes different, smells different, and surrounds a person differently than anyone else’s breath.  Breath can be warm and sweet, breath can be hot and sexy, breath can be hot and frightening.  It is something that is very present and should not be left out.  A lot of writers leave breath out.  And it’s so important; it’s the most intimate part of a kiss.  Someone else is breathing into your lungs, and it’s either heaven or it’s hell.

voice- Voice conveys much, even without words.  A voice can groan, whimper, gasp, moan, catch, whine, scream, sigh.  Voice can convey emotion powerfully, and while some kisses are silent, usually they’re not.

emotion-  Emotion is the most important- and the thing you try not to say.  You want to describe it, through all of the things above, so that it’s perfectly clear what your characters are feeling, without you ever using the “feelings words”.  If they’re in love, their bodies will lean close, their eyes will smile, their voices will giggle softly.  If they’re nervous, their palms will sweat, their noses will bump, their voices will shudder.  If they’re afraid, their muscles will be tense, their faces will grimace, their lips will not open.  Emotion is the color that you keep inside your mind as you write; it’s the base line that drives the description behind everything else you say.

Wow, that was a lot!  Gosh I hope it wasn’t too much!  Keep in mind not every kiss has all these things- this is just a list of things to consider when writing a kiss, and based on how long of a kiss you want to make.  Keep in mind that typing “they kissed for a long time”…that’s six words, it takes half a second to read, so that’s a short kiss!  If you want a long kiss, you need long sentences that make the reader linger.

So maybe to start off, pick three things on the list to describe in your first kiss.  Don’t try to do it all- that would be too much for even the most epic kiss.  Just pick what’s most important to this particular scene, to these particular characters, and describe those parts along with the lips, and you’ve got yourself an awesome, emotional kiss. ❤

Thank you!

SC!AU background

You, the reader, have been working as a bartender at Cragen’s entertainment club for a few years now. Consider it a personal favor, one that needs to be cashed in from time to time.

Mike: You’re best friends with your fellow bartender, Mike. He began working at the club right after leaving the Marines, and taught you most of what you know. Always with a cheeky smile and new tricks to show off, Mike attracts just as much attention as those on stage. When he occasionally talks about his fiancée, he does so quite endearingly, although you’ve never actually met her. He also doesn’t open up about his time in the service much, but some things are better left unspoken. Like when he sometimes returns from his breaks with cloudy eyes and bloody knuckles.

Peter [Stage name|Chicago]: Peter was your newest addition before Sonny, transferring from the Windy City to escape from underneath his father’s overbearing thumb. Quiet and reserved but with a body that seems to be chiseled from marble, he took yours and everyone else’s breath away the moment he got on stage. You catch him staring often, but can only count on one hand the number of times he’s actually talked to you, settling for a soft smile and nod instead. He keeps a faded picture of a woman, blonde hair with light green eyes taped to the dressing room mirror.

Nick [Stage name| Casanova]: Nick is the resident flirt, starting at the club not long after you. As soon as he walked through those double doors, smirking and giving you a nod, you told yourself you’d have to be careful around him. However, the more time you spent with him the more you realized he was actually incredibly sweet. Well meaning, just not always well thought out. Which goes for his temper as well-Nick is quick to anger, slow to cool down and quipped with the meanest right hook you’ve ever seen, but thankfully he only turns physical on those he deems truly deserve it. After Nick steps in for you during an incident with an unruly boyfriend of one your patrons, the two of you become a lot closer.

Rafael [Stage name|El Juez]: Rafael has been dancing the longest, and most of your customers come to see El Juez perform in person-he’s the best in all five Burroughs. And it’s true. You’ve never seen someone command a room, captivate an audience quite like Rafael. Although you’ve never heard him admit it, he used to be an incredibly successful lawyer who’s grief caused him to sell his brownstone, quit his career, and take up dancing. “Life’s too short, cariño” he said to you while counting his night’s earnings, “too short to always do what’s expected of you.” With a sharp tongue, bag of tricks, and impeccable taste Rafael has a long list of admirers and an even longer list of enemies.

Sonny [Stage name|Dominick]: oh, Sonny. When he first walked in, nervously running a hand through his hair and leaning over the bar, you thought he was the new bartender Cragen had hired. He laughed and told you that no, he was here to dance. That, admittedly, caught you by surprise, but once you saw him on stage you were taken aback and so pleasantly surprised. Tall, lean body with graceful movements and a heart stopping gaze you felt a certain protectiveness over the kind, thoughtful law student. Everyone called him Dominick, but the moment he smiled at you and told you to call him Sonny you knew he wouldn’t just be a coworker.

Fin: as mentioned before, Fin is a bouncer on the side. The only reason you know he’s an NYPD officer during the day is that you ran into him flashing his badge to a bodega owner, to which you quietly smiled at him and slipped out the door. He mentioned later to you that he’s trying to save up for his grandson’s college fund.

Amanda: Amanda is a kick ass and take names DJ at the club. She’s incredibly good at what she does, almost as if music comes to her naturally. Her Georgia accent is just as endearing as her blunt attitude.

Olivia: Liv is one of your regulars, coming almost every night for El Juez and Chicago. She’s a hot mess with a wardrobe of mostly animal prints and gaudy gold jewelry. She tips well and always has a shred of wisdom to offer you while collecting her glass of red wine.

Oh hell yes!!
