You had agreed to watch Noah for Olivia while she was at work. You didn’t mind, you loved Noah. He was a sweet kid. Today was just not his day. He was getting cranky because he didn’t get his nap. You tried to lay him down for one, even tried to lay down with him but you couldn’t. The moment Nick walked through the door, he heard the crying of the toddler.
“Jeez, what’s going on in here?” Nick asked as you were doing everything to try to get Noah to stop.
“I’m not drunk enough for this. You take him.” You said as you handed Noah over to Nick. It was like instantly Noah calmed down. You groaned and threw your hands up in the air.
“You alright, babe?” Nick asked as he began to bounce Noah some and wrapped on of the blankets around him.
“He’s been crying for two hours. I’ve tried getting him to take a nap and nothing worked! You come home, and he stops!” You said as you were close to crying due to frustration. Nick frowned and came over to you.
“Hey, it’s alright. Noah’s still trying to get used to you babe.” Nick said. You shook your head and sighed some to calm your nerves.
“W-what if when we have kids it’s the same way, Nicky? A-and I can’t get them to calm down?” You said as tears formed in your eyes. Nick frowned and gently sat Noah on the couch before wrapping his arms tightly around you.
“You’ll be an amazing mother, babe. Trust me. You just have to give Noah some time to adjust to you. I love you. Now let’s put Noah down for a nap.” Nick said as he turned to pick the toddler up. The two of you walked to the bedroom and cuddled with Noah between the two of you.
