the two of you fought to catch your breath, hands gripped tightly as you lay next to each other in the center of the bed unmoving. a giggle escaped from you and that set you both off into another round of deep belly laughs. sonny’s eyes were scrunched together and you felt more tears run down your face. the laughter erupted from both of you like fizzy champagne bubbles and it may have been the champagne that made the situation funnier.
“do you think we can ask them for some normal sheets?” sonny squeezed out and you rolled over onto his chest and laughed so hard you started coughing.
“stop! stop,” you protested weakly. “I’m going to lose a lung.”
“think I pulled something in my back the way my knee slid on these sheets,” sonny muttered and you started giggling again as you recalled the earlier events.Â
the two of you were at a fancy hotel for an anniversary celebration. the evening had wound down with champagne before you two took things to the bed. that’s when the fun had started. the silk sheets on the bed were cool to the touch and shone in the dim lighting. but as soon as you two had tried to do anything other than kiss you had slipped and slid over the bed so much you’d eventually given up in a collapse of laughter. the sheets were so slippy that sonny had mumbled it felt like trying to have sex on a slip and slide and that time you laughed so hard you cried.
“maybe if we put a towel down?” you suggested with another laugh. you felt sonny harrumph as he brought his hand up to cup your spine gently.
“probably end up on the floor. no traction. do drug stores sell sheets? maybe I’ll go buy some,” sonny suggested in a buoyant voice.Â
“maybe we’ll just drink some more champagne and frot like teenagers,” you suggested even as you rolled to grab the bottle on the night stand next to you.
