You were having a horrible day and between your family member’s death and your own sickness your anxiety was running rampant. It had taken all of the strength and energy you had to tell Sonny that he didn’t need to come over later that night after he got off of work. You didn’t really want to be alone, truthfully, but you hated feeling like a burden. You weren’t expecting anyone and hadn’t even gotten to thinking about dinner plans so you frowned a little before going over to answer it.

“It’s me, doll,” Sonny called through the door as if he sensed your confusion through the door. You opened the door quickly for him and he smiled sheepishly as he held up a brown paper grover bag in his arms. “Hope you don’t mind that I came over anyway.” You smiled despite yourself and some of the warmth that had leeched away ever since you had gotten the bad news began to seep back into your bones.
