Interesting that you assume he’s being blackmailed. But not entirely incorrect //

Peter takes you outside and down the block where a car is waiting. He opens the door for you, makes sure you’re comfortable, and once the door is shut he holsters his gun. Despite all this, he appears more shaken up than you are. As you watch, he rubs his sweaty palms on his slacks and chews on the inside of his cheek. Does it have something to do with Pam? He really does love her, and you’ve heard him say he’d do anything for his sister.

“They took Pam, didn’t they?”

“They said they’d kill her. I can’t- I can’t lose her too.”

You want to feel sorry for him, but it’s hard when you don’t know where you’re going. When you try to ask, he shakes his head and warns you to just be quiet. Then you see the flash of his gun again and know to hold your silence.

“You know what,” Mike says as he descends to the restaurant, “you were right. I’m sorry, babydoll.”

He scans the place and realizes that no one’s here. It’s completely empty. No, not again, this can’t be happening. Sitting on the counter like a threat is the book he hated that you were reading, “Alice in Wonderland.” Is it irony or planned? He doesn’t know and isn’t sure he wants to. But truthfully, he knows exactly who’s done this, and the chances that you come home alive are slim to none.
