the thing with fred happened just over a year ago and sonny still has it replay in his mind from time to time. holding his girlfriend’s lifeless body when she passed out from blood loss scared him to death. it’s an image that haunts him even though she’s okay.
this is also not long after the lockdown. [& as a reminder the lockdown happened because several clubs from a couple of towns over came up w/ an idea to kidnap nick, sonny & the bastards’ old ladies in order to force them out of town] he’s feeling particularly sensitive about her safety. feels like he’s not good for her and then seeing her get along with the doctor became this confirmation bias that she’s be better with someone else–someone who was the opposite of him in almost any way. and that’s a hard feeling considering how much he loves her. and he feels dumb bringing it up with her because he knows what she’s going to say (that she loves him and has no plans to anywhere), but he still can’t shake the feeling that he’s going to be responsible for getting her hurt worse or killed.
AND there’s zoning issues with the location of the parlor
againso he’s in a place where he feels like he can’t do anything right/provide for his family or the club.
Why is Sonny feeling particularly insecure? Had his old lady done/said something apart from having lunch with a colleague?
