You and Sonny had been on a date. Every time he went to say those three words, his face would turn red and say something else about how beautiful you look, how nice your dress was or how beautiful your hair was. Each time you’d blush and thank him and take yet another sip of your wine. After dinner, you two took a walk in the park holding hands.
“Hey, Sonny? I wanna thank you, for the lovely dinner tonight.” You said as you stopped walking. He looked down at you and chuckled some.
“Y-you’re welcome, doll. I was hoping you’d like it. I-I spent the last three months planning this for you.” Sonny said as you grabbed both of his hands and tangled your fingers together.
“You didn’t need to, Sonny. You know I enjoy eating Chinese in our pajama pants from being lazy all day.” You placed a kiss against lips. He smiled against them as he looked down at you.
“I-I… damn, I l-love you… damn what is wrong with me? I just-I wanted to say ‘I love you’ for the first time without stuttering but that failed.” Sonny said as he turned away from you. You laughed and removed your hands from his and placed them on his cheeks so he turned to look at you.
“I think it’s cute, Sonny. I love you too.” You said as you got up on your tiptoes to place a kiss against his lips softly.
