Nick was exiting the Guardianes restaurant on his way to take care of Armando when hears his name called as he’d headed back to where his bike is parked. He turns to look and grimaces slightly before looking over at Razor. He and Razor exchange a look and Nick sighs before plastering a smile on his face.
“What can I do for you, officer? Going to arrest me for walking down the street now?” Nick asks in a pleasant tone and Lawrence smirks as he strolls over to where the boys have paused on the sidewalk.
“I would if I could, Amaro,” Lawrence says in the same pleasant tone and Nick’s jaw tightens as he fights to maintain his composure. “No, I just wanted to ask you how our girl was doing. Her and I had such a fun date the other day,” Lawrence drawls with a smug look on his face. Nick’s composure slips for a moment and he frowns.
“Your dreams must be getting really vivid if you think you took my girl out,” Nick replies and he shifts his weight and narrows his eyes slightly. Lawrence feigns surprise and Razor glances between the two men cautiously.
“Oh, she didn’t tell?” Lawrence asks and Nick’s composure slips for real this time, the frown from earlier resurfacing. “We had a great time getting coffee and catching up a couple of days ago. I’m so glad she’s back and we can…reconnect.” Nick takes a step forward and Razor shoots him a warning look that he ignores.
“Listen to me, you stay away from her. Don’t try to—” Nick threatens jabbing a finger in Lawrence’s face and Lawrence gives him a lazy once over and laughs.
“Watch yourself, Amaro. Threatening an officer of the law is something I can take you in for, even if just for the night,” Lawrence warns and Nick exhales heavily and clenches his jaw closed. “Who do you really think she’s going to choose, a motorcycle club thug or an upstanding member of society? I bet you can’t even take her out to eat without your lovely shadow here,” Lawrence sneers and gestures to Razor who looks affronted. “At the end of the day, you and I both know that you’ll only get her hurt, or worse. Make a selfless decision for once in your life,” he spits before turning on his heel and waking away, tipping his hat in a mockery of a good bye.
Razor reaches out to grab Nick’s shoulder and Nick shakes him off angrily and stalks over to his bike, turning on the engine before his friend can open his mouth to say anything.
