You glanced up from the kitchen as Sonny let himself back into the apartment, Matty on his heels. You stirred your food on the stove, about an hour before you had to be at work and this meal would have to hold you for awhile. It was rare that you were ever able to take your break on time given the nature of working in the ED. You shot him an appreciative look as he pulled a small pack of pantyliners out of his pocket and handed them over to you.
“Thank you. Knew I wouldn’t have time to stop before work,” you said gratefully and he gave you a small smiled and kissed you, pulling his riding gloves off and shoving them in the back pocket of his jeans.
“Sorry we took so long. Ran into a bit of…trouble,” Sonny said and you arched an eyebrow at him in response. Matty was sighing behind him in the living room, sitting down on the couch heavily. The prospect that had been charged with staying at the house to look after you when Sonny had gone out choked back a laugh and you rolled your eyes. Sonny pulled a ginger ale out from the inside of his cut and offered it to you with another small smile. You grinned up at him and kissed him again.
