Anonymous said: I can’t stand the silence between us. From angst prompt list. Peter Stone if you write for him. Or Sonny or Dodds. Thanks! Love your writing❤
Thank you both for the prompt here you go! (PS: Anon, I do write for Peter and I’m working on a Peter thing right now!)
Neither of you remembered exactly how the fight started. It was something about how you felt he cared more about your work than him and he told you he could say the same. How it started really doesn’t matter at this point. What matters is you haven’t spoken to Sonny for days. Sure, there are times you are so busy you don’t talk much but it’s never been like this. You never deliberately ignored Sonny before. His texts went on read, his calls went to voicemail and questions remained unanswered.
“I’m feeling chinese, you want anything?” Sonny asks on the 3rd night of you not speaking to him. He knows it’s futile trying to talk to you right now because you’re not quick to let go of a grudge. He’s met with the silence he expected and sighs “I’ll just get your usual.” Then more silence.
You know that Sonny can’t stand silence. He says it gives him too much room to think. It’s also because living in the Carisi household, silence was foreign to him. Someone was always doing something and making noise. When he first moved into his apartment, he would always keep the TV on so he had some background noise. Over time he’s grown used to the quiet but this is a new kind of silence that he never dealt with before.
It’s day 4 and Sonny can’t deal with it anymore. He stands in the doorway to stop you from leaving in the morning “I can’t stand the silence between us.” You refuse to meet his eyes and walk away to the kitchen because if you’re going to be late, may as well have some breakfast. ”Baby, we need to talk about this.” he says, still standing in the doorframe. You remain silent while putting a piece of bread in the toaster. “I’m sorry for the way I reacted but this is excessive. You can’t ignore me forever.” Sonny slides down to sit against the door and puts his head in his hands. He’s emotionally exhausted from days of silence and now trying to get you to talk to him. You don’t answer him and something snaps in him “You know what? You wanted to leave, go ahead, leave. I’m not stopping you. I can’t deal with this.” Sonny storms out of the apartment and slams the door behind him, leaving you to face the situation you created. You ruined everything without saying a word.
Oh my precious Sonny 😢
