Ty bby it didn’t but I’m praying today is better…
You’d always find something on your desk every Monday morning. Whether it was a bouquet of flowers in a vase, a small box of chocolates or candies or even a small poem book. You never knew who they were from but you always loved the small gift on your desk when you started the week. It always made you smile.
Monday rolled around and you were looking forward to whatever was on your desk this week. Sadly, there was nothing. You frowned and though that your little secret admirer wasn’t interested anymore. You sighed as you put your purse in your desk and quickly sat down to read over the case file from the current case.
“Detective, a word in my office?” You looked up at your Sergeant before closing the file and following him into the room.
“Is there something wrong, Sergeant?” You asked as you closed the door behind you. Mike chuckled some as he walked over to his desk and pushed something towards you.
“I found this on your desk this morning and I didn’t want someone else picking it up.” Mike said as you grabbed this small box. Slowly opening it up, you gasped at the beautiful pair of earrings inside.
“Y-yeah. Someone’s been leaving me little presents on my desk every Monday for the last few months. Sorry, I know you don’t wanna hear about it.” You began but Mike just laughed softly.
“No, I saw everything you would get. He just wanted to brighten up your Monday’s and make you happy throughout the week.” Mike said with a smile. You raised a brow slowly as him as you thought about what he just said.
“W-wait, so it was you? Giving me all these flowers and candies and poems?” You asked the male as he slowly nodded.
“Well, now that that’s out would you like to get some dinner Friday after work?” Mike asked. You stood there for a moment before slowly looking at the earrings in your hand.
“You’ve been giving me all these gifts? A-and you’re asking me on a date?” You couldn’t figure out why your Sergeant would be asking you on a date. Mike shoved his hands in his pockets and he watched and waited for your response.
“Yes, Mike. I’ll go to dinner with you Friday.” A smile moved over his lips as he pulled out his phone.
“I know a nice place. We’ll go right after work. You’re dismissed, detective.” Mike said. You turned and gently closed the box to the earrings before leaving the office with a smile over your lips.
