“If you use up all the hot water one more time, I’m going to ban you to the couch for a month!” with our dear sweet Sonnshine?

carisi-dreams:

“And then she yelled, ‘If you use up all the hot water one more time, I’m going to ban you to the couch for a month!’” Sonny continued with a laugh, hands gesturing widely as he relayed an argument he’d overheard on the subway on his way home from work.

“I feel like I’ve seen so many married couples fight on the subway! What is it about an enclosed space with strangers that emboldens people to air out all of their dirty laundry?” you asked incredulously with a shake of your head and half a laugh. Sonny shrugged and lifted the top to stir the sauce on the stove before closing the lid once more.

“I have no idea,” he said disbelieving with a smile as he crossed the floor to the refrigerator and pulled out cheese. You took another sip of your wine and sat it on the counter, resting back on your hands and watching him move through the kitchen with ease as he finished dinner.

“Maybe that will be us one d—ohh you’re making my favorite?! And on a Tuesday at that, what’s the special occasion?” you asked as you actually paid attention to what he was fixing. Sonny smiled to himself as he propped the grater up on the counter and started grating cheese with long, steady strokes. He shrugged a single shoulder and spared a glance up at you with a smile before looking back down at his hands.

“I can’t imagine arguing with you on the subway, doll. Maybe in like…a taxi or something. Maybe…but the subway? Nah,” he refuted and you huffed out laughter and gestured agreeably. “Don’t need an occasion to spoil you, do I?” Sonny asked as he addressed your question and you crossed the room towards him, stopping by his shoulder.

“Guess not,” you allowed before kissing his cheek. He pinked slightly and you smiled wider, still amazed that even after all of this time you could still make Sonny blush with a kiss on the cheek. “Going to spoil you later,” you continued with a smirk and a wink. “Unless, of course, you use up all the hot water,” you added with a laugh and he chuckled in response.

Sigh. My sweet boy.
