A sigh escaped your lips as you sat between Olivia and Sonny. You were newer to the squad and this was your first time testifying for a victim. You felt uneasy as you kept staring at the perp and had this feeling in your gut something was going to happened. While you were called to the stand, the defendant kept shouting out how you were a liar and you kept telling lies. The judge wasn’t happy and had him removed. As you were walking back to the gallery when you turned your head to look at the defense. The perp had gotten the gun from the officer and had it pointed at you.
“Stand behind me!” Peter shouted as he pulled you quickly behind you. The moment you heard the gun fire, you closed your eyes. You couldn’t dare to see if Peter had gotten shot. After a moment, you opened your eyes and peeked around Peter. The perp was on the ground, being handcuffed and taken out of the room.
“You okay, Counselor?” You asked. Peter looked turned and smiled at you.
“Are you, Detective?” You slowly nodded your head as you bit your lip.
“Thank you, Stone. Really. I owe you one.” You laughed out. Peter chuckled as he walked to table and looked over all the notes he had written down.
“How about Friday night? We go get something for dinner?” He offered. Your cheeks turned a slight pink color as you nodded.
“Alright, Friday night it is then. I’ll see ya then.” You smiled before you turned and left the room.
