– You took over running the ring after your father died. You worry that you can never fill his boots, but every day you think you get better at it. Between your sharp eyes and your streetsmarts, the ring has flourished under your attention. You have your share of regulars:
– Rafael Barba: He grew up in the projects. He has a quick wit, a sharp tongue, and a look in his eyes like he’s never going to give in. Most of his fighting is taunting, tearing his opponent down word by word until they’re caught off guard and he can pin them. While he gets hit a lot, he tends to come out on top.
– Mike Dodds: A juicehead through and through. You thought at first that he was doing this just to prove that he’s macho, but after some late night drinks you’ve discovered that it’s more of an outlet. Sometimes his PTSD from his time in the marines gets to him, and he comes here to blow off steam.
– Peter Stone: Undoubtedly the most physically gifted player, but that’s not all. Out of the ring, he has a heart of gold and he’s never a sore loser. He plays, all in good fun, and buys a round for everyone at the bar at the end of the night. Sometimes you think he looks sad, but it’s always gone before you know it.
– Nick Amaro: You’ve known him your whole life, which means you know that he only fights to impress his father. One of these days, he’ll get the approval he so desperately craves, and it’s that hope that has him fighting like his life depends on it every time he steps into the ring. He’s quick on his feet, but not the best strategist.
– Sonny Carisi: He’s one of the gamblers. The only fights he takes are the ones that he knows he can win. Once, he mentioned that he needs the money to take care of his sisters, but he never opens up. While he’s a string bean with no muscle, he’s fast, smart, tricky, and knows the physics behind getting in a damn good punch.
