“Why do you have giant stuffed bear?” Sonny asks, admiring the soft fur.
At the memory of exactly why, Nick’s face heats up. “Hey sweetheart,” he calls, hoping you can hear him from the living room, “can you come here? I wanna show D- Sonny something.”
Getting to use his nickname still feels foreign, strange and awkward on Nick’s tongue and he forgets it more often than he remembers.
