Notes: I tried to make the readers gender ambiguous!
You watched in awe as your tall and lanky boyfriend, Sonny Carisi, bound around the playground with your daughter. She was a year and a half old and no taller that a foot and a half. She wasn’t very steady on her feet but she certainly didn’t know that. She ran as fast as her chunky baby legs could take her with Sonny’s pointer finger wrapped tightly in her chubby little fingers.
Smiling warmly you took out your phone and snapped a few pictures of the two of them. Sonny lifted your tiny daughter up to the slide and held her as he slowly and gently guided her down. She smiled just like her father, big and pure, making the cutest crinkles near her bright blue eyes. It was moments like these that you wanted to keep with you forever. Watching the two people you loved most in the world you felt at peace. You thought of how amazing Sonny was as a father. He did everything in his power to make you and Nora comfortable and happy.
Nora giggled as her dad scooped her up, holding her above his head for a moment, looking at her like she was the only thing in the world. You took another picture, the sunlight framing them perfectly. You smiled to yourself as he made his way over to your place on the bench and sat down. “What’s got ya smilin’ so much doll?” he asked as the baby squirmed on his lap trying to get closer to you.
“Just you cuties” you replied holding your hands out to take your daughter. Sonny watched with nothing but admiration, wondering what he did to get so lucky. There was nothing he loved more than the two of you. Watching you take care of Nora never failed to make his heart soar. With a job as horrifying and overwhelming as his, it was nice to have a place to go for a reprieve. It also gave him a whole different appreciation for his little family. And he always let you know that, never missing an opportunity to tell or show you just how much he loved you.
He gently kissed your forehead, then the top of Nora’s head before putting his large hand on the small of your back. “Are ya ready to get goin’?” he asked as Nora snuggled into your chest and let out a huge yawn. You nodded and got up, Sonny pulled you close with an arm around your waist. You leaned your head on his shoulder and looked up at him with a smile. He smiled back down at you and placed a soft kiss on your lips.
Nora starred up at the two of you curiously, so you both leaned in and kissed her chubby little cheeks at the same time. She giggled at that, her face beaming so you did it again.
You were so happy, you could hardly believe that this was your life. You looked at your precious little baby, and your beautiful boyfriend and you felt proud.
“I love you, Sonny.” You said before taking out the camera one last time.
“I love you too” he replied happily, as he tickled Nora to get her to smile. She laughed loudly and you both smiled, giving you the absolute perfect picture.
